Why should you transfer your home movies to DVD?

Your 8mm, Super 8mm or 16mm movie film is brittle and dry with age. The best way to preserve the content of your precious family memories and to enjoy relive those times once again is to transfer to DVD.

Our Home Movie Transfer Process:

We splice (if necessary) and prepare the film before we run it. We transfer 8mm, 16mm, Super 8mm, Super 8mm Sound film.
We transfer your film in a direct-to-digital system. You can choose the format you would like - DVD, Digital Tape, VHS, etc. We highly recommend an archive DVD copy, that way you have a viewable format for everyday use and an archive copy for the future.
We enhance, color correct, add era-appropriate music (if desired) in our non-linear video editing systems.
We provide your film transfer on the media of your choice. Your DVD can also include main menu and chapter selection.

Home Movie Transfer FAQs:

How will it take?
Usually 3 to 4 weeks. Quicker service is available; just let us know your deadline.

What about blank, black, clear, or dark sections of film?
We will edit out any clear or black footage from your film (as long ass it is a foot or more in length). We can also lighten dark film if needed.

Some of our film is out of focus and we have sections with very shaky camera work. Can you help out in this area?
It is our policy to transfer all exposed footage.

What about music or sound on film?
We include (at no additional charge) easy listening, soothing background music. If your original film was recorded with sound, we will transfer the sound as well.

I have a box full of film and have no idea what order it is in or what’s on it. Can we edit the film before it is transferred?
We will provide an unedited DVD if you would like to review and edit. We will also provide an edit decision list to make it easier to edit.

How do we organize our film?
Most customers prefer chronological order. But we can transfer in random order and we can edit later. If the film is dated, just mark the reels in order you would like them in. If you are still not sure of the dates, sometimes the reels are in boxes with postmark dates.

Can you put titles, custom music and narration on the video?
Absolutely. We can create a documentary style video. You are only limited by your imagination.

Audio Transfer

Do you have old audio reels (1/4"), cassette tapes and LPs that are not available on CD? We transfer your audio cassettes, audio reel to reels and LPs to CDs and .mp3 for iPOD and MP3 players.
